OLC Purpose and Objectives

The purpose of the Human Resources and Trainer Development Division is to strive, in a collaborative way, to enhance Ohio library excellence through training and human resource development of all library personnel.

Unit Objectives

In addition to the goals and objectives in the Ohio Library Council Long-Range Plan,

1. Develop and submit a minimum of two quality programs for chapter conferences, Biennial convention, and conferences that respond to the needs of OLC membership.
2. Develop ideas for possible professional development programs.
3. Support the nominating committee by networking with colleagues throughout the state to find the best candidates for Action Council leadership positions.
4. Welcome new members of the division to the organization by contacting them and inviting them to participate in division activities.
5. Provide educational and informative communications that are timely and relevant to all members.
6. Seek opportunities to collaborate with other OLC members to provide important information to the library community.
7. Network with both the public and private sector to stay abreast of human resource and training trends to assist this division in planning innovative programs .
