Purpose and Objectives |
The purpose of the Reference and Information Services Division is to provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of reference service issues and concerns, and to provide continuing education and training opportunities for Ohio's reference librarians and reference support staff so that they can better assist all of Ohio's library customers in the effective use of online and traditional information and reference services.
1. Publish three newsletters to share RISD news, practical information and tips, and other pertinent items.
2. Submit at least two program proposals for webinars.
3. Release the final RISD bookmark and update previous versions to include our Delicious address.
4. Place at least two candidates for each open seat on RISD Action Council.
5. Publish reviews of Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the ORE in RISD newsletters this year.
6. Pursue partnership opportunities with other OLC Divisions and Committees.
7. Provide resources for new Online Resource Center.
