Purpose and Objectives |
The purpose of the Reference and Information Services Division is to provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of reference service issues and concerns, and to provide continuing education and training opportunities for Ohio's reference librarians and reference support staff so that they can better assist all of Ohio's library customers in the effective use of online and traditional information and reference services.
- Publish three division newsletters to share RISD news, practical information and tips, and other pertinent items.
- Submit at least one program proposal for webinars.
- Submit at least one program proposal for the chapter conferences.
- Submit at least three program proposals for the 2011 Convention and Expo
- Place at least two candidates on the ballot for each open seat on the RISD Action Council
- Publish a review of Section 6 of the ORE in RISD newsletter.
- Pursue partnership opportunities with other OLC Divisions and Committees.
- Explore collaboration with OPLIN on providing online tutorials for statewide databases.
