Robyn Vittek, 2013 OLC Convention Chair's Vision Statement:
Through exciting new learning opportunities and tried-and-true methods, OLC 2013 Convention and Expo attendees will rediscover and practice the three C’s: Connection, Collaboration, and Community. Participants will connect with fellow library staff to share ideas and inspire one another, and discover new tools to make future interactions with colleagues easier and more fruitful. They will acquire strategies to collaborate with other organizations and library entities in their community and beyond, with the aim of offering comprehensive local services with the greatest efficiency and convenience for patrons and staff. Finally, attendees will gain a greater understanding of the essential role libraries must play by reaching out; not only to expand services, but to support the aims and aspirations of the people within their community to improve and strengthen the community as a whole.
