Program Specialist 2 - Library Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Nashville Public Library, TN

Program Specialist 2 – Library Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Revision posted 12/23/02) - This position serves as assistant to the manager of the Library Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing located in the Main Library downtown in providing programs and services relating to deafness and hearing loss. Responsibilities include: leadership for expanded special program development and implementation as assigned; direct library services to the public including reference services and reader guidance; liaison to community organizations; general administrative duties; Professional level sign language interpreting services for the library system. Minimum requirements are a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years experience in program management, development, or related work. Preferred knowledge/abilities include an advanced degree in Deaf Education; Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf; supervision of staff responsibilities; and customer service skills. This is a NON-CIVIL SERVICE GRANT FUNDED POSITION. Salary is $30,554 plus a metro benefit package.
