DUTIES
The Ocean County Library is seeking a Librarian to organize and implement outreach initiatives that support
and move OCL's diversity commitment forward. The duties are system wide. You will assist the Branch Managers
to make contacts with community groups and sustain relationships. The contact information will eventually
be passed on to the Branch Manager who serves that community to sustain the relationship and future
involvement. Participate in organizing joint events and programs that may be among the library and
community organizations; library to library; or community organization to community organization.
You will interface with branch managers, diversity liaisons and the diversity committee to determine
OCL's needs and develop a plan to meet the needs. You will assist the organization in determining methods
to fully integrate the diversity initiative in the daily work ethics and flow of OCL along with developing
means of measuring the effectiveness of the diversity initiative. Assist in finding and developing grant
opportunities. You will be expected to detect emerging trends in diversity and outreach; keep current on
diversity programs and developments by maintaining Successful candidates will have sensitivity to the
need of every individual to be treated with respect and fairness and demonstrate a passion for the work.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Master's degree in Library or Information Science from an accredited college or university.
Senior Librarian also requires one year of librarian experience.
