Position:Grants Specialist
Library/Organization:Dayton Metro Library
City:Dayton
Salary Range:$37,523.20 - $42,910.40 with exceptional fringe benefits
Requirements:
The Dayton Metro Library a vision directed organization, known for outstanding customer service employees is seeking a Grants Specialist to work in the Adult Services Division of the Main Library. The Grants Specialist has a system wide responsibility for programs and services to the grants and non-profit community while serving as a resource for Library staff in grant writing efforts.

Job Duties:
  • Plans, prepares and conducts system wide programs which address grants and non-profit needs and offer a tie-in to library materials.
  • Participates in public relations activities to promote library use.
  • Provides service and maintains liaisons with community agencies.
  • Administers the Foundation Center's Cooperating Collection, serving as a region wide resource promoting collection resources and services.
  • Selects and deselects materials for the collection.
  • Develops and delivers grants related training courses/workshops to staff.
  • Assists with patron information and selection needs at Main Library.


Job Qualification:
  • Knowledge of professional library principles, methods, techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of literature, periodicals, Web sites and other electronic media, and materials which constitute a diverse, current and relevant grants information collection.
  • Ability to determine patron information needs.
  • Ability to construct a competent and complete search strategy using both print and non-print information resources.
  • Knowledge of available resources.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and continuous insurability required.
  • MLS (preferred) or its equivalent in education and experience required.
