Call for Programs: 2006 Children's and Young Adult Services Conference
The OLC is now accepting programs for the Children's and Young Adult Services Conference on August 16-17, 2006 in Columbus. The conference planning committee is seeking programs that encourage libraries to reach out to children and young adults by heightening awareness of developmental stages, demographics and cultural differences and by forging strong community partnerships, building relevant collections, and using technology to its optimum advantage. The committee seeks breakout programs in the areas listed above that will provide theory and practical ideas—including the rationale behind them—to maximize the effectiveness of services to all ages of children and teens.
The committee will review all programs and notify all who submit on the status of their program offering. Calls for sessions for additional OLC conferences will be issued periodically over the next several months. If you are interested in submitting a program idea for the Children's and Young Adult Services Conference, please follow these directions:
- Download the program form in Microsoft Word (If you are asked for a network password just click cancel.)
- Complete the form in Word and save the document.
- Fax the completed form to OLC at (614) 416-2270 or send the form as an attachment via e-mail to wpiper@olc.org
