2/05/07 Governor Strickland Expresses Strong Support for Local Government Funding
Gongwer News Service reports that, in 
a speech to the Ohio Township Association, Gov. Strickland pledged to protect state funding of local governments and “work to reform the fund so that it is a predictable and stable source of revenue.” The OLC, the Ohio Township Association, and other organizations that advocate for local government and library funding have been working with the Ohio General Assembly and the Governor's office to stabilize and increase funding – preferably through the recommendations made by the Local Government and Library Revenue Distribution Task Force in late 2006.
