02/05/13 - Gov. Kasich Releases FY14-15 Budget Proposal
Gov. John Kasich released his FY14-15 budget proposal on Mon., Feb. 4. A review of the 760-page document is currently underway and initial indications are that the Governor is proposing the following amounts for the Public Library Fund (PLF):
- FY14 (July 2013-June 2014): $359.3 million
- FY15 (July 2014-June 2015): $369.0 million
By comparison, the FY13 PLF (July 2012-June 2013) is $345 million.
It appears that in the Governor's proposal OPLIN and the Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled will continue to be funded through the PLF but funds have been added to the PLF to cover the cost.
A copy of the Governor's budget proposal can be found online. The PLF distribution figures can be found in the "Revenue Distribution Funds" section (page D-500). A print version of the Governor's budget proposal will not be available until Feb. 18.
