The 2008 Ohio Library Council Technical Services Retreat

Janet Swan Hill, Associate Director for Technical Services for University Libraries at the University of Colorado (Boulder), will open the 2008 Ohio Library Council Technical Services Retreat with a keynote address focusing on ways in which technical services librarians can become their own most valuable tools - activists, advocates, collaborators, innovators, researchers, and communicators. A variety of speakers from organizations such as Oberlin College Library, OCLC, Case Western Reserve University, Kent State University, The Ohio State University, Holy Cow Consulting, and OHIONET will provide programs on Web 2.0, sharing bibliographic records, workflow analysis, promoting technical services within the library, trends in technical services, social tagging/folksonomies, and many more.
