ALA President Michael Gorman will host a free national satellite teleconference to be held Friday, June 9, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CDT. "Confronting the Crisis in Library Education: A National Teleconference" will address the question of whether today's library education programs are doing an adequate job of training the next generation of librarians and discuss the related issues of continuing education and certification. This live interactive program will provide opportunities for viewers nationwide to offer comments and ask questions via fax, e-mail and telephone.
The teleconference will be available without charge to all libraries to downlink or view on webcast nationally and internationally.
