05/13/08 OLC Management Conference – Register by
May 16

Friday, May 16 is the deadline to register for the 2008 OLC Management Conference. Keynote speaker Tom Galante, Director of the Queens Library in New York, will share tips and anecdotal information about his library as well as straightforward expectations of the qualities he seeks in skilled library managers. Having served Queens Library since 1987 in a broad variety of senior management positions, Galante is well positioned to challenge and inspire library managers to regularly inventory the skills in their personal toolkits and to upgrade those skills through continuous learning and professional development. Queens Library leads the United States in circulation setting a new national record of more than 21 million items circulated in fiscal year 2007.

The conference will feature programs in the areas of human resources, marketing, conflict management, technology evaluation, and staff development and training. Here are a just of few of the programs:
