06/06/06 Portsmouth Public Library Hosts 2006 Bookmobile Rally
More than 80 people (and four bookmobiles) from around the state traveled to Portsmouth , Ohio , for Rally at the River: Ohio Library Council's 2006 Bookmobile Event on May 24-25.
The Rally included tours of the library and the Portsmouth floodwall murals, a dinner theater production of "The Case of the Brakeless Bookmobile" a play by Douglas Eric Anderson as performed by a cast from the Portsmouth Public Library, karaoke entertainment, and a day of educational programs on mobile services featuring keynote speaker, Susan Hill, Director of the Paulding County Carnegie Library and Editor of the Rural Library Services Newsletter .
OLC Director of Professional Development, Wayne Piper , presented Portsmouth Public Library Director, Beverly Cain, with a resolution from the Ohio Library Council acknowledging the library's centennial celebration and recognizing the hard work that the library staff put into making the 2006 Bookmobile Rally a great success.
