6/17/09 BWC Delays Workers' Comp Group Rating Enrollment

Typically, the enrollment process for the OLC's workers' compensation group rating program is initiated in June. However, due to a number of proposed policy changes and delays in actuarial projections by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, the enrollment process may not start before mid-July. If you receive group rating enrollment information from a third-party administrator prior to July, please disregard it. No TPA will have accurate information on which to base projected rates until information is released by the BWC in early July.

When final figures are received from the BWC, enrollment packets for the OLC's 2010 workers' compensation group rating plan will be sent to all currently-participating libraries by the OLC's third-party administrator, Avizent/Frank Gates Service Company. Re-enrollment simply requires completing the service agreement and returning it with the service fee.

The few libraries not currently participating in the OLC's plan also will receive information about how to enroll. Non-participating libraries are required to complete an AC-3 form which permits the BWC to release claims information to Avizent/Frank Gates. If you have any questions about participating in the workers' comp group rating program, call Cathy Pletz of Avizent/Frank Gates at (800) 777- 4283, or Doug Evans, OLC, at (614) 410-8092.
