6/19/07 Omnibus Library Bill Introduced
Sen. Robert Schuler (R-Cincinnati) last week introduced the OLC's omnibus library bill (SB 185). The legislation proposes to: (1) change the title of the library clerk-treasurer to fiscal officer; (2) limit the number of public libraries to the current 251; (3) include school district libraries in the open records requirements passed in earlier this year in HB 9; and (4) permit libraries to use direct deposit for employee payroll. The bill has not yet been assigned to a committee for hearings.
