Governor Kasich Signs Library Omnibus Legislation
Today, Governor Kasich signed the Library Omnibus Legislation (SB 321) introduced by Sen. Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) and actively supported by the Ohio Library Council.
SB 321 addresses a number of issues affecting public libraries including double taxation in levy districts. It also raises the required bidding threshold for permanent improvements to $50,000 (from $25,000). The bill has an emergency clause, which means it is effective immediately upon Governor's signature (instead of 90 full days after the signing).
