7/6/11 Governor Signs SB 120 Into Law
On June 30, Gov. John Kasich signed SB 120 into law. This legislation, the passage of which the OLC had been pursuing since before the end of 2010, clarifies that the prosecuting attorney in each county is the legal adviser of all of the county's tax-supported public libraries. The legislation was sponsored by Sen. Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City), former member of the Tipp City Public Library Board of Trustees.
Chris Taylor, Deputy Director, Columbus Metropolitan Library, and member of the OLC Board of Directors, attended the bill signing ceremony on behalf of the OLC and Ohio's public libraries. The new law will go into effect in September 28.
