8/8/11 OLC's New Workers' Comp Group Will Offer Greater Savings to Libraries

In an ongoing effort to assist its members in maximizing their budgets in the area of workers' compensation premiums, the Ohio Library Council has joined with the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA), and Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) to co-sponsor a Group Rating program for the January 1, 2012 policy year.

Through this collaboration, the OLC, OSBA and OASBO will be able to offer better savings and stability for Ohio's libraries and school districts during these continued difficult economic times facing our state. The new, larger group will be able to accommodate more libraries and offer higher levels of savings as compared to past OLC groups and other group rating options.

With the strength of a combined program that consists of over nearly 200 libraries and over 400 schools, the combined group will provide each library and school district in Ohio the highest savings and most reliable discounts than other group rating programs. Depending upon their past claims, libraries could be offered premium savings ranging from 15-65%. In addition, the new group will be able to offer libraries the opportunity to participate in a group retro option if it is feasible and offers better savings.

Ohio Library Council group rating members will continue to receive aggressive claims management and cost control services provided the Frank Gates Service Company, the OLC's group rating third party administrator.

Questions should be directed to Doug Evans, Executive Director, at (614) 410-8092 or devans@olc.org.
