10/12/09 Facts About Census 2010
Every year, the federal government allocates more than $300 billion to states and communities based, in part, on census data. Some of these funds go to help public libraries through LSTA grants and other federal allocations. A fact sheet about the 2010 Census is available to help library staff members answer patrons' questions. Citizens will receive their census questionnaires in March 2010. It is in every library's best interests to make sure that everyone is counted. Additional information on the 2010 Census will be provided in the months ahead.
