11/18/05 Call for Programs: 2006 Small Libraries Conference
2006 marks a year of change and opportunity for all members of the Ohio Library Council. If you've kept up with Access , you're aware that OLC's educational programming is changing. Next year the OLC will present five conferences focused on specific areas of library service. As always, the five planning committees seek the best breakout sessions for each conference, but this time with a twist: this year and next, committees will extend their call for programs to every OLC member . This change is based on the belief that our professional organization is comprised of many dedicated library staff who have great ideas to share with their colleagues and that a broader call will ensure the richest agenda for each 2006 event.
The first call for 2006 comes from the committee planning the Small Libraries Conference which will be held on May 17–18, 2006 in Columbus. The program form provides all the information you need to submit your idea for consideration: the focus of the conference, the conference location and dates, and the deadline for program submission. The program planning committee will review all programs early in 2006 and notify all who submit on the status of their program offering. Calls for sessions for the other four conferences will be issued periodically over the next several months. If you are interested in submitting a program idea for the Small Libraries Conference, please follow these directions:
- Download the program form in Microsoft Word (If you are asked for a network password just click cancel.)
- Complete the form in Word and save the document.
- Fax the completed form to OLC at (614) 416-2270 or send the form as an attachment via e-mail to wpiper@olc.org
