When you've finished, your supervisor will want to review your activities and this quiz with you. You may then print a certificate of completion from the Ohio Library Council, to be signed by your supervisor and library director.

1. State your library's mission or purpose in your own words. Then describe how your job contributes to fulfilling the library mission.
2. List the 10 Main Classes of the Dewey Decimal Classification and briefly explain why library materials are classified.
3. List all the places in your library where users can find classified non-fiction.
4. Are there separate sections in your library for fiction and non-fiction DVD/videos? Are the DVD/videos classified?
5. Some libraries shelve non-fiction DVD/videos with books on the same topic (i.e. by classification number). What is an advantage of putting books and DVD/videos on the same topic on the shelves together? What is a disadvantage?
6. If you look up a book in the catalog, but only write down the top lines of the call number (REF 025.32 for example), will you be able to find one specific book? Explain.
