1. State your library's mission or purpose in your own words. Then describe how your job contributes to fulfilling the library mission.

2. List the 10 Main Classes of the Dewey Decimal Classification and briefly explain why library materials are classified.

3. List all the places in your library where users can find classified non-fiction.

4. Are there separate sections in your library for fiction and non-fiction DVD/videos? Are the DVD/videos classified?

5. Some libraries shelve non-fiction DVD/videos with books on the same topic (i.e. by classification number). What is an advantage of putting books and DVD/videos on the same topic on the shelves together? What is a disadvantage?

6. If you look up a book in the catalog, but only write down the top lines of the call number (REF 025.32 for example), will you be able to find one specific book? Explain.

7. What are the main technical services necessary for your library to provide good customer service?

8. If you have questions about an Interlibrary Loan, a missing magazine, a catalog entry (item record), and a computer problem, who would be the right people to talk to in your library?

9. What are the main public services provided in your library? What services are provided on the Web?

10. Who may look at patron records in your library?
