The Ohio Library Council is the statewide professional association which represents the interests of Ohio's public libraries as well as their trustees, Friends, and staffs. The OLC offers a variety of opportunities for vendors to connect with the Ohio library community through the OLC's 5,500 members.
Associate Membership
Associate membership in the Ohio Library Council is open to any commercial entity that provides products and services to public libraries. Associate Membership offers exclusive opportunities for exposure to Ohio public libraries (e.g., a listing in the Vendor Mall), early notification of exhibit and sponsorship opportunities, and member discounts on event registrations.
Advertising Opportunities
The OLC has opportunities for advertising in the weekly
e-newsletter, Access, distributed to approximately 3,000 OLC members. The price of one ad placement includes four consecutive appearances in the e-newsletter to increase the ad's exposure. Associate Members receive a 10% discount on the price of an ad placement. See the ad rates and requirements
. Please contact Doug Evans (614) 410-8092 if you are interested in advertising.
Partnerships
Event partnerships provide an excellent opportunity for businesses to connect with those attending OLC events. Past OLC partners have found that underwriting events help them market their products and services and demonstrate their support for the Ohio Library community.
Expo
Approximately 130 companies and organizations exhibit with the OLC displaying a wide variety of products and services each year at the OLC Expo. The Expo attracts managers, decision-makers, and buyers from all of Ohio's 251 public libraries. The Expo is held every year and is held in conjunction with the biennial OLC Convention in odd numbered years (2011, 2013, etc.).
Program Submissions
Central to the mission of the OLC is the provision of continuing educational opportunities for its members. The OLC provides these opportunities in a number of different formats that include the Convention, Chapter Conferences, Training @ OLC, and additional conferences that focus on specific areas of library service. The OLC issues a “call for programs” when planning these events and accepts submissions from vendors as long as the programs are educational rather than promotional. Vendors interested in submitting program ideas for OLC educational events should contact OLC olc@olc.org or (614) 410-8092. Get more information...
