Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) supports the Ohio Library Council’s educational programs through research into areas such as core competencies and trends in the delivery of education, and recommends the development of programs focused on emerging topics of interest and concern to the library community.

Purpose and Objectives

  • Call for and oversee OLC conferences and professional development programs.
  • Actively promote certification.
  • Provide support to each division with division liaisons.

Goals for 2025:

  • Supporting and/or sponsoring other divisions and committees as they create and propose professional development events, webinars, etc.
  • Promote certification.
  • Create a display in the Exhibit Hall during the Convention & Expo
  • Host a networking event at Convention & Expo, like the luncheon held in the past that promotes certification.
